Water & Wastewater Management

Water and Wastewater Management

Since the early 1970s, The Civil Works Company (CWC) has been a trusted leader in water, wastewater, and stormwater management, as well as electro-mechanical operations and maintenance. Our expertise spans advanced wastewater treatment processes, including aeration, MBR, SBR, and sludge dewatering, as well as cutting-edge water treatment solutions like reverse osmosis, seawater desalination, and carbon filtration.

CWC also specializes in air pollution control systems, offering odour management, chemical scrubbing, and carbon filtration solutions. With a commitment to innovation and quality, we deliver tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of every client, ensuring efficient and sustainable operations.

We enhance and protect water at every stage of its life cycle to ensure the provision of quality water and its sustainable use.

We are adopting a sustainable approach to managing the water cycle comprehensively by optimizing the use of resources, minimizing pollution through maintaining high management standards for waste water treatment, and undertaking awareness campaigns for the end consumer.
The holistic water management cycle originates at the point of raw water collection and goes through the necessary treatment steps before culminating in final distribution.

During this process, water storage is maintained and controlled and the distribution networks are carefully managed.

Our professionals continuously test the water's composition to ensure it is consistently meeting the required standards.

In parallel, we monitor, operate and maintain the supply and sanitation networks, allowing us to achieve the highest performance rates in areas where we manage the water service, including using the latest technologies to detect and repair possible leaks.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT AND RE-USE

At CWC, we focus on achieving the highest product water quality, to maximize water re-use. This is especially important considering the high cost of water purification and transport; our process-driven solutions center around sustainability and efficiency, also upholding energy optimization and re-use principles where available. CWC works with multiple technology providers to not only implement but also improve, through both research and implementation, treatment processes.

WATER TREATMENT

CWC has a wide range of innovative solutions for water treatment problems. Considering the range of sources and uses for the water and understanding the constraints imposed across multiple projects, our approach involves series of steps designed to remove contaminants and impurities from water to make it safe and suitable for the end-user. These processes can include physical, chemical, and biological methods, and they vary depending on the source and quality of the water being treated.

SLUDGE TREATMENT

Sludge, or residual solids, is the end product of wastewater treatment, whether biological or physical and chemical treatment. In itself, it is primarily viewed as an unwanted waste stream. At CWC, and inline with recent environmental demands and technological advancements, CWC is contributing to a re-use of sludge. By employing processes, ranging, but not limited to, digestion, drying, incineration, CWC is directly contributing to not only reducing waste but effectively re-using resources, and minimizing environmental impact across our communities.

AIR POLLUTION CONTROL

Air pollution has rendered many cities in the world uninhabitable or unhealthy, at best. At CWC we take great care in controlling and treating all discharges from our treatment facilities and air is no exception. We carefully consider the type of air pollution, and the vicinity of the treatment plant, and are able to provide a range of air treatment services, including physical, chemical and biological. Our latest processes not only ensure safe air for breathing, but effectively eliminate odours and harmful substances, at minimal cost and impact.
